About REDfour
History: REDfour Security Group
REDfour was formed in 2004 by a small group of highly experienced ex Special Forces personnel who, having witnessed the aftermath of 9/11 realised that a new approach to the old concepts of security provision was long overdue.
Vision & Values:
Our idea was to form a company that could draw on seasoned security individuals from across a wide spectrum of disciplines to deliver a bespoke package that was adaptable to the clients’ needs but more importantly utilised the concepts of cultural awareness to enable them to integrate within the differing cultures our clients would operate in, with minimum disruption and in such a manner that they did not attract undue attention to themselves. This model has been successfully adopted by REDfour in our operations with clients from the Oil and Gas Industry, Mining, Telecommunications and Construction industries across Africa, the Middle East and South America and now forms the basis for REDfour MSS Ltd anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden.
Ethos and REDfour MO:
We have now established ourselves as a proven Maritime security provider; our unique ethos and MO are to keep things simple and uncomplicated this ensures clarity and understanding in all communication. We are achieving this by being transparent, open and honest in our business methods and remaining firm to our core ideals.
We consider ourselves to be an adaptable provider of security services, able to adjust ourselves to the situation or environment we work in, this in turn, offers clients the reassurance of knowing that we can assist in varying forms of risk mitigation. In essence our system is as follows when engaged by a client.
- A simple clear pricing structure and our Contract and Terms & Conditions are agreed.
- The REDfour Team undertake rehearsals based upon the REDfour Ship Defence Manual and known specifications of the ship to be transited to ensuring full preparation for the transit ahead.
- All team members, sign and thereby agree to the REDfour Standard Operating Procedures.
- The team fly to a designated embarkation point and Join the Ship.
- Immediately arrange to meet with the Master and a security survey of the ship in question is undertaken to highlight the weak points of the ship.
- The team leader then address’s the crew and informs them of how the team are going to assist in the protection of their vessel and also provides current intelligence of the transit route.
- All exterior work is begun as soon as possible and the ships defences are erected.
- The interior defences continue into the ship and lead away from the citadel or safe room should Pirates manage to board the vessel.
- Once all defences are put in place, a regular report is sent to REDfour HQ and security team begin to mount their watches.
- Once inside the IRTC, the Team Leader is in hourly contact with REDfour HQ and all REDfour locating systems are instigated, so that REDfour Operations can monitor the progress of the vessel through the area considered the most dangerous. All these processes are logged at the time they happen and form the basis of the Post transit report which is sent to the client on successful completion of the transit.
- We estimate the length of the transit and charge a day rate, which differs from area to area, if the team are to join a clients ship returning through the GoA, then the savings of return flights, hotels and any other expenses are passed onto the owner as a saving against the final invoice.
K&R, LOH Insurance reductions:
We are also in a unique position to offer substantial reductions in K&R, LOH Insurance, as we are in the process of creating a package of security and insurance under one master policy with two of the insurance industry leaders.
